| PY-10151 detects BAD in human and rat samples. PY-10151 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. The PY-10151 immunogen is a BAD fusion protein corresponding to residues 2-168. |
| General Information |
| This protein is a member of the BCL-2 family. BCL-2 family members are known to be regulators of programmed cell death .It positively regulates cell apoptosis by forming heterodimers with BCL-xL and BCL-2, and reversing the death repressor activity. Pro apoptotic activity of protein is regulated through its phosphorylation. Protein kinases AKT and MAP kinase, and protein phosphatase calcineurin were found to be involved in the regulation of this protein. Alternative splicing of the gene results in two transcript variants which encode the same isoform. |
