PA3-130 detects lubricin in human samples.
PA3-130 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects a ~64 kDa protein representing lubricin in human samples.
The PA3-130 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues I(19) Q Q V S S Q D L S(28)C of human Lubricin. This polyclonal antibody has been referred to as: JSCIQQ. This peptide (Cat. # PEP-288) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
Figure 1 illustrates Western blot detection of human recombinant lubricin using PA3-130. |
Lubricin is a glycoprotein encoded by the PRG4 gene. It has been identified as a component of joint lubrication and synovial homeostasis by reducing friction in joints and preventing synovial cell overgrowth. It is a large, water soluble molecule that acts as a carrier for insoluble surface-active phospholipid (SAPL). Depletion of lubricin function has been associated with camptodactyly-arthropathy-coxa vara-pericarditis syndrome (CACP), an arthritic-like autosomal recessive disorder. |
