| PA1-9051 detects GRB2 in human samples. PA1-9051 has been successfully used in Western blot and immunohistochemistry (paraffin-embedded sections) procedures. PA1-9051 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C terminus of GRB2, amino acids PRNYVTPVNRNV. Figure 1 illustrates Western blot detection of GRB2 in Jurkat lysate using PA1-9051. Figure 2 illustrates specific staining of paraffin embedded human tonsil using PA1-9051. |
| General Information |
| GRB 2 protein contains one SH2 domain flanked on both sides by an SH3 domain. In response to EGF, GRB 2 binds, through its SH3 domains, to the guanine nucleotide exchange factor, Sos. The GRB 2 - Sos complex then binds the EGF receptor. These interactions play a critical role in the activation of the p21 ras signalling pathway. |
