Product Specific Information
The PA1-46217 antibody reacts with STIM1 in human, mouse, rat, bovine, and canine samples.PA1-46217 has a 79% sequence identity with Xenopus. PA1-46217 has been successfully used in Western Blot applications. By Western blot, this antibody detects a ~77 kDa band, representing the STIM-1 protien. Two other non-specific bands of lower MW may also appear. The PA1-46217 antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide made to a C-terminal region (within residues 600-685) of the human protein. [Uniprot# Q13586]. Store at 4ºC short term. Aliquot and store at -20ºC long term. Avoid Freeze/Thaw Cycles.
General Information
Stromal interaction molecule 1 plays a role in mediating Ca(2+) influx following depletion of intracellular Ca(2+) stores. It acts as Ca(2+) sensor in the endoplasmic reticulum via its EF-hand domain. Upon Ca(2+) depletion, it translocates from the endoplasmic recticulum to the plasma membrane where it activates the Ca(2+) release-activated Ca(2+) (CRAC) channel subunit.
