Product Specific Information
PA1-41477 detects Trace Amine Associated Receptor 1 in non-human primate, human samples. PA1-41477 has been successfully used in Western blot applications. The PA1-41477 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 200-230 of human TAAR1.
General Information
TAAR1 is a 339 amino acid novel membrane protein belonging to the G protein-coupled receptor family and is activated by a broad range of monoamines and amphetamine-related psychostimulants (biogenic amines). It has two N-glycosylation sites at its N terminus and several potential protein kinase sites at its C terminus, including two serines and a single disulfide bridge. It shows lower cAMP accumulation in response to octopamine, tryptamine, dopamine and unresponsive to the classical biogenic amines norepinephrine, serotonin, and histamine. It is also known to have a chemosensory function distinct from odorant receptors and is involved in functional regulation of DAT and is a potentially important target for therapeutics for methamphetamine addiction. Recent studies demonstrated wide distribution of TAAR1 in brain.
