Product Specific Information
PA1-4134 detects Patched (PTCH) in human samples. PA1-4134 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot this antibody detects a ~158 kDa protein representing PTCH in fetal brain lysate. The PA1-4134 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues K(269) K I N Y Q V D S W E(279) of mouse PTCH. This sequence is 100% conserved in human, rat, and chicken PTCH, and is expected to cross react with these samples. Figure 1 illustrates Western blot detection of human PTCH1 from human fetal brain lysate using PA1-4134.
General Information
Mutations of the human Patched tumor suppressor gene (PTCH) have been identified in individuals with the nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome (NBCCS) as well as in sporadic basal cell carcinomas and medulloblastomas.
