| PA1-26828 detects Von Willebrand Factor from human samples. PA1-26828 will not react with chicken. PA1-26828 has been successfully used in immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry (paraffin and frozen) procedures. The PA1-26828 immunogen is full length, native protein purified from human plasma. Figure 1 illustrates a confocal extended focus photograph of Von Willebrand Factor staining (red) and non-specific nuclear counterstain (green) in the adult mouse olfactory bulb. This picture shows a single major vessel within the glomerular layer of the olfactory bulb. Figure 2 illustrates immunohistochemical localization of Von Willebrand Factor in BCG infected guinea pig lung tissue. |
| General Information |
| Von Willebrand factor (vWf) is a series of self-aggregated structures, all derived from common glycoprotein subunits, synthesized in endothelial cells and megakaryocytes. The molecular mass of the monomeric vWf unit is 225 kDa. vWf binds to circulating factor VIIIc (antihemophilic factor), hereby stabilizing the latter thus being an important factor in the normal primary haemostasis. |
