| PA1-26608 detects MMP-7 from human samples. PA1-26608 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (paraffin) procedures. This antibody detects a ~28 kDa band representing the pro form, and an ~18 kDa band representing the active form. No special pretreatment is required for immunostaining. The PA1-26608 immunogen is MMP-7. |
| General Information |
| Matrix metalloproteinase (MMPs) are a family of closely related zinc-containing proteolytic enzymes, capable of degrading connective tissue components. Imbalanced secretion of certain MMP is implicated in the invasive potential of malignant tumors. MMP 7 is thought to play an important role in the early steps of tumor progression. Expression of MMP 2, MMP 7, and MMP 11 is higher in pancreatic carcinoma than in normal pancreas. |
