Product Specific Information
PA1-21054 detects iNOS in human, mouse, and rat samples. PA1-21054 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (FFPE). Boil tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for ten minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes. A possible positive control for PA1-21054 is lung. The PA1-21054 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal portion of mouse iNOS. Figure 1 shows specific staining of human lung tissue using PA1-21054.
General Information
NOS oxidizes a guanidine nitrogen of arginine releasing nitric oxide in the form of a free radical and citrulline. Notric oxide thus generated acts as a messenger in diverse functions including vasodilation neurotransmission, anti-tumor and anti-pathogenic activities. Inducible NOS (iNOS) or macrophage NOS (mNOS) is a calcium/calmodulin independent and is expressed in activated macrophages and stimulated glial cells.
