PA1-21054 detects iNOS in human, mouse, and rat samples.
PA1-21054 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (FFPE) and Western blot procedures. Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections require boiling in 10 mM citrate buffer prior to immunostaining.
The PA1-21054 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal portion of mouse iNOS.
Figure 1 shows specific staining of human lung tissue using PA1-21054. |
NOS oxidizes a guanidine nitrogen of arginine releasing nitric oxide in the form of a free radical and citrulline. Notric oxide thus generated acts as a messenger in diverse functions including vasodilation neurotransmission, anti-tumor and anti-pathogenic activities. Inducible NOS (iNOS) or macrophage NOS (mNOS) is a calcium/calmodulin independent and is expressed in activated macrophages and stimulated glial cells. |
