Product Specific Information
PA1-18285 detects APG5 from human samples. PA1-18285 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and Western blot procedures. The PA1-18285 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal residues of human APG-5L.
General Information
APG5 is required for autophagy. APG5 conjugates to ATG12 and associates with isolation membrane to form cup-shaped isolation membrane and autophagosome. The conjugate detaches from the membrane immediately before or after autophagosome formation is completed. APG5 may play an important role in the apoptotic process, possibly within the modified cytoskeleton. Its expression is a relatively late event in the apoptotic process, occurring downstream of caspase activity.
