Product Specific Information
PA1-16799 detects Endothelial Lipase in human samples. This antibody does not detect Endothelial Lipase from mouse samples. PA1-16799 has successfully been used in Western blot applications. The Endothelial Lipase molecular weight is 57 kDa. The PA1-16799 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal residues of human endothelial lipase.
General Information
Endothelial lipase (EL) is a novel member of the lipoprotein lipase gene family. It is synthesized by endothelial cells and functions at the site of synthesis. EL most likely plays a physiological role in modulating lipoprotein metabolism. Overexpressed EL has been shown to reduce HDL cholesterol levels, whereas an EL deficiency appears to be effective in elevating HDL cholesterol levels in animals.
