Product Specific Information
MA1-91418 detects JAK3 from human and mouse samples. MA1-91418 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (paraffin tissue), immunoprecipitation, and Western blot applications. By Western blot, this antibody detects a vand of ~115 kDa, which corresponds to the predicted molecular weight of JAK3. Staining of formalin fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. The MA1-91418 immunogen is recombinant full length protein, corresponding to amino acids 1076-1100 of Mouse JAK3.
General Information
JAK 3 (also designated L JAK) is a member of the Janus family of protein tyrosine kinases along with JAK 1, JAK 2, or Tyk 2. Subsequent to activation, these kinases function to activate various members of the Stat family of transcription factors by phosphorylation on critical tyrosine regulatory sites. JAK 3 is activated in response to IL-3 and IL-4 in T cells and myeloid cells. JAK 3 activation requires the serine rich membrane proximal region of the IL 2 receptor beta chain, but does not require the acidic domain that is required for association and activation of Src family kinases. Expression of JAK 3 is restricted to NK and T cells.
