| MA1-35038 detects Carcinoembryonic Antigen in human samples. MA1-35038 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (frozen) applications. The MA1-35038 immunogen is from the membrane of human colon carcinoma cells. |
| General Information |
| CEA can be found in a large variety of carcinomas, but also in the tissue of non-neoplastic diseases and normal epithelia. Despite this lack of specificity, immunohistochemical detection of CEA is frequently used for the histopathologial diagnosis of human tumors. Most polyclonal, non purified, CEA antisera show cross reactivity with related antigens such as biliary glycoprotein (BGP) and non-specific cross reacting antigen 1/11 (NCA). Our monoclonal CEA antibody does not show cross reactivity neither with BGP nor with NCA. |
