Product Specific Information
MA1-22151 detects Beta-COP in hamster, human, rat and monkey samples. MA1-22151 has been successfully used in immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and Western blot procedures. In immunofluorescence, use methanol/acetone or paraformaldehyde fixation, followed by a permeabilization step. Strong immunofluorescent staining is confined mainly to the central perinuclear area in the cell. MA1-22151 immunogen corresponds to a synthetic peptide, conjugated to KLH, corresponding to amino acids 701-715 of beta COP.
General Information
This gene encodes a protein subunit of the coatomer complex associated with non-clathrin coated vesicles. The coatomer complex, also known as the coat protein complex 1, forms in the cytoplasm and is recruited to the Golgi by activated guanosine triphosphatases. Once at the Golgi membrane, the coatomer complex may assist in the movement of protein and lipid components back to the endoplasmic reticulum. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
