Product Specific Information
MA1-19408 detects CD105 in human and porcine samples. MA1-19408 has been successfully used in FACS and Western blot (non-reducing) procedures. The MA1-19408 immunogen is recombinant vaccinia virus containing human CD105 (L-isoform) cDNA. Store at 2-8ºC. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20ºC, avoiding freeze/thaw cycles.
General Information
CD105 (Endoglin) is a homodimeric transmembrane glycoprotein serving in presence of TGFßR-2 as a receptor for TGFß-3. CD105 is highly expressed on endothelial cells and promotes angiogenesis during wound healing, infarcts and in a wide range of tumours and its gene expression is stimulated by hypoxia. CD105 prevents apoptosis in hypoxic endothelial cells and also antogonises the inhibitory effects of THFß-1 on vascular endothelial cell growth and migration. Normal cellular levels of CD105 are required for formation of new blood vessels.
